1876-1887 - The Apache Wars

This extraordinary saga, pitting the forces of the U.S. Army against a small band of resilient and stubborn Chiricahua Apache Indians, led by Geronimo, was finally brought to an end when General Crook forced Geronimo to surrender in 1887.   Geronimo is viewed in American history as a great warrior, but his own tribe still struggles to reconcile the price many Apache paid for Geronimo's legacy.
